Sigma Software Distribution is now Climb Channel Solutions
July 5, 2021

We’re excited to share our rebrand from Sigma Software Distribution to Climb Channel Solutions with you 🥳
Our partners know that we have always been dedicated to supporting the growth of their businesses. This will not change. The rebrand to Climb Channel Solutions is an exciting step to a global approach that will benefit our vendor and reseller partners.
You can read the formal press release here. Prefer video? Check out Jane Silk, VP of Distribution EMEA, and Dale Foster, President of Climb, discussing the rebrand here in the first episode of ‘A Cuppa With Climb’.
History
Sigma built a reputation in the software channel for delivering true value-add services that benefit our vendor and reseller partners. In the beginning, we shipped physical boxes; half of our office in sunny Ashburton, Devon, was a warehouse full of boxes (it’s quite handy having an office that used to be a malting). Since then, we’ve celebrated our successes, such as winning multiple awards and being recognised by our vendors, as well as investing in our systems to improve customer service.
In 2019, we introduced our Reseller Gateway, the quick quoting machine that allows resellers to generate their own quotes in 30 seconds. We then launched Sigma Cloud, our indirect CSP Programme, designed to accelerate our resellers’ Microsoft business through a combination of technical services, Microsoft products, and cloud-based offerings from our strategic vendors.
And as we all headed into lockdown in March 2020, we had no idea that the pandemic wasn’t the only big thing happening in 2020…
Acquisition
In November 2020 it was announced that Sigma’s parent company had been acquired by Wayside Technology Group. Before the acquisition, we had worked alongside Climb with some of our strategic vendors and could always see the similarities. Since the acquisition, we’ve collaborated with our North American colleagues at Climb Channel Solutions on the integration and building of a global growth platform.
“Climb and Sigma have similar, challenger-brand mindsets, as well as sharing many vendor relationships, especially in the emerging technology space. This made Sigma the perfect acquisition and it has also made the integration much smoother” Dale Foster, President of Climb.

Rebrand
The rebrand of Sigma Software Distribution to Climb Channel Solutions UK is the next step on this exciting journey; we’re building a global brand with our colleagues in the US and Canada under the Climb banner. And while we’re rebranding to Climb, we’re not forgetting where we come from (notice the purple in the logo 😉)

“We’re taking the best parts of each business – our people, systems, approaches – and investing in them to build a stronger proposition and better buying experience, all under a single global brand” Jane Silk, VP of Distribution EMEA.
As part of the rebrand, Sigma Cloud has become Climb Expedition. The objective of the programme doesn’t change however – it’s all about enabling our reseller partners to accelerate their journey to the cloud and is fully supported by our in-house Microsoft and cloud specialists. The cloud marketplace will continue to allow 24/7 ordering and provisioning.
What does this mean for our partners?
Nothing will change for our current partners, it really is business as usual. We’re still the same people, offering you the same great service. Partners will continue to find us approachable, efficient, and always willing to help. To quote Jane Silk, our VP of Distribution EMEA, and Sigma’s former Managing Director: “it’s more of what we’ve been doing – but bigger, faster and better.”
Looking to the future, we’re expanding our reach and building a global growth platform to enable our vendor partners to reach more businesses in more countries, and our reseller partners to sell to more businesses in more territories. We’re excited for the possibilities that a global brand will bring and can’t wait to share some of the ideas we have with you.
