The State of Cloud Management Today
There are now multiple ways for companies to adopt the cloud. With that comes a multitude of bespoke demands of cloud management solutions; governance, life-cycle management, brokering and automation to name a few solution areas. The current market is valued at $1.2 billion with an estimated 20% annual growth through 2023. Don’t miss out on this opportunity.

Latest Cloud Management Trends
Looking at the market research for cloud management from the past year, it’s clear that the reasons behind each beautifully bespoke environment are completely rational. Companies with an essentially bottomless bucket of funding and resources were able to migrate to the cloud efficiently and securely when the industry first showed a shift in interest.
However, migrating to the cloud is no small feat. Instead, many companies have taken various approaches that see a staggered evolution from on-prem to hybrid to only cloud over several years. Others have chosen to compartmentalise specific parts of the business that would most benefit from being cloud hosted. Below are the latest predicted trends for managing these varied environments.
There might have been a gold rush in the past previous years due to the pandemic and enforced remote/hybrid working, but that doesn’t mean it’s End-users around the globe are still looking for the right cloud solutions, and the market predicts continued growth in migration, initial management and security solutions.
AI is the current hot topic and continues to integrate into our everyday lives - this is no different for cloud management. Use Automation and AI technologies to streamline operations and improve efficiency. Automated provisioning, scaling and monitoring will become more accessible, allowing optimisation of your customers cloud environment and significantly reduce manual labour management costs.
There might have been a gold rush in the past previous years due to the pandemic and enforced remote/hybrid working, but that doesn’t mean it’s End-users around the globe are still looking for the right cloud solutions, and the market predicts continued growth in migration, initial management and security solutions.
A multi-cloud environment is where an organisation uses more than one cloud platform to deliver specific applications and services. This increases the companies’ flexibility and scalability in the future, playing into the benefits of a bespoke environment. However, managing such an environment involves multiple workflow and management tools, a lack of unified security and increased demand for APIs to allow/improve data sharing. IT Teams will also have to be trained across multiple cloud providers instead of just one.
There are many organisations still using out-of-date operating systems, on-prem databases and application management. For businesses who don’t have the resources for a mass update and migration to the cloud, containerisation could be the answer. Container management solutions and hybrid environment management solutions are often similar. There are also up-sell and cross-sell opportunities for containerisation alternatives such as opting for virtual machines or a hybrid environment.
Whereas there are benefits for migrating to the cloud, there are also benefits for keeping some data and operations on-prem. For example, public cloud services may be affordable and scalable, but can lack in security and compatibility with legacy applications. However, they are complex to manage and require a clear strategic plan for security, governance, workflows and visibility across the environments and management services.
Many companies who have already migrated to the cloud are now looking for ways to increase efficiency and redirect resources to the next challenge. Reducing costs while maintaining high security can be a risk but there are appropriate cloud security solutions available for every need, whether they take an umbrella approach or opt for multiple solutions that secure individual elements and processes of their environment.
Last but certainly not least. Climate change is predicted to cost end-users $1.6 trillion/year by 2025. Therefore, organisations are looking to the cloud as a sustainable alternative to on-prem, depending on the cloud provider. As well as moving to the cloud to reduce their carbon footprint, it’s also beneficial to choose cloud management solutions that also reside in the cloud.
